Day 181: Navigator + Important Talk

Today I learned...
...that I am pretty good at being a navigator in the car.

Today I am thankful for...
...an important talk with my hubby.

Day 180: Juice + Safe Car

Today I learned...
...that Juice is totally on to us. She knows we are going away on vacation and she doesn't like it one bit.

Today I am thankful for...
...a car that is goof enough condition to get us to Maine safely.

Day 153: No Panic + Garmin

Today I learned...
...that I can drive somewhere unknown without any panic symptoms at all, which is a big deal for me. :-)

Today I am thankful for...
...the purchase of a new Garmin GPS for my car! Yay!

Day 86: Art Therapy + Magical Conversations

Today I learned...
...lots of art therapy activities I can use with people with eating disorders.

Today I am thankful for...
...good conversation with a classmate, which led to exciting information.

Day 84: Good Company + a Driver

Today I learned...
...the truth of the above quote. I found it in an old calendar at work today and was struck by it. It reminded me instantly of my grad school friends. This whole MSW experience initially seemed so long, but with good company we prevailed and made the best of everything.

Today I am thankful for...
...a solution to my driving dilemma for Wednesday. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get to Scranton for a colloquium and still make it back for class that night, because I am too afraid to drive all the way up there myself. A classmate came through for me just as I was resigning myself to backing out.

Day 77: Right Moments + Safety

Today I learned...
...that sometimes the right person finds the right thing at the right time. (See: Fast Food Friendship)

Today I am thankful for...
...returning home safely tonight. My 30 minute drive home from class took me an hour and I was white knuckled and nervous the whole way. The roads in this snow/sleet were terrible. Thank God our class got out early!

Day 71: Positive Facts + Rainy Day

Today I learned...
...that positive thinking can improve your life expectancy. This morning someone mentioned that regular negative thinking can take 16 years off your life and cited a local news station as the source. I'm thinking I'll live a very long time. :-)

Today I am thankful for...
...hospice home visits that allow for Starbucks stops, refuge from torrential rain, and long in-transit discussions (including Vampire Diaries chats) with a pleasant social worker. :-)

Day 69: Prioritizing + Cleaning Favors

Today I learned...
...not to make things harder than they need to be. I prioritized school work instead of making myself crazy, did what HAD to be done, rather than everything that exists to be done, and I felt less rushed and more in charge.

Today I am thankful for...
...Rick cleaning my whole car (vacuuming and cleansing all the windows and surfaces) and Rick cleaning my whole bathroom shower. HE IS AMAZING. And a bit of a neat freak. But man, both of those things seriously needed cleaning. And I didn't have to do it.

Day 44: Technology + Parking Spot

 Today I learned...
...that my iPhone 5 can do soooooo many things I always imagined phones would be able to do when I was a kid dreaming of futuristic possibilities.

Today I am thankful for...
...a really close parking spot at grad school tonight - because it was snowing when I left the building to drive home!

Day 42: Rick Humor + Kind Auto Repair

Today I learned...
...that some people find Rick as funny as I do. :-)

Today I am thankful for...
...the guys at Two Brothers Auto who put a new battery in my car so I don't get stranded somewhere...and who gave my car an oil change so my engine runs well...and who greeted me with an exuberant, "Hi, Arielle!" when I walked in the door, even though they didn't even know I was coming in with my troublesome car with the hope they could take care of it on the spot. When I looked surprised and said, "Oh! You remember me?" they laughed and said, "Of course."

Day 16: Perceptions + Being Chauffeured

{http://shirae.etsy.com © 2007-2012 Shira Sela}

 Today I learned...
...that this new project/blog of mine seems like a lot of work to most people. But...happiness is an inside job. This new blog is just an outward display of what's already going on in my own heart.

Today I am thankful for...
...Rick driving us to work in the snow/ice, even though it wasn't all that bad. So glad I didn't have to do it! And that we were able to take one car, rather than driving separately.
