...that getting sick from my nieces was worth the cuddles.

...all the sick time I have at my job so that I could use some to stay home.

...that I don't always have to get everything done. Even important things. I'm a human, not a robot.

Day 198: Snag + Encouraging Treats

Today I learned...

...that when things have been calm with a high-maintenance situation for a long time, a problem or snag is bound to occur. 

Today I am thankful for...

...the "encouraging treats" my boss brought to work. Yesterday I was stressed by some work things and told her I was trying to keep my positive attitude. She said she would give encouragement. Today I came in to muffins and cherries for the office. I asked her if she had bright them and she said, "Yes! Encouraging treats!" :-)

...that my first day back at work after vacation wasn't as bad as I feared.

...potato salad. Yup.

Day 179: Respect + Sneakers for Rick

Today I learned...

...that when you tell someone you can't do something, if that person respects you, she will not ask you to do it.

Today I am thankful for...

...Rick finding sneakers that don't hurt his feet (chronic pain) after weeks of searching. 

Day178: MLL + Coworkers

...that More Love Letters is coming to my hometown on Saturday and wanted me to meet up with them, but due to vacation plans, I can't. :-(

...coworkers to vent with and laugh with.

...Downton Abbey, The Language of Flowers, and my cats...one on my head and one in my lap to be exact. I turned to Rick and said: "Look, your whole family is in one chair!" And he came over, kissed me, and said, "Aw, everyone I love is in one pile." :-)

...huge, delicious chocolate chip cookies for breakfast at work - provided by my newest co-worker.

...that a work lunch out is a good thing, even on a very busy day with too much to do.

...the book I am reading: RANDOM FAMILY. It has helped me better understand people, especially my current clients.

Day 122: Soreness + Extra Money

Today I learned...
...that I will be sore after running for the first time in a long time.

...the extra bit of money in paycheck.

Day 93: Nap + Classmates

Today I learned...
...that a good, long nap can make a sick woman deliver a presentation without failing. I was sick, but went to work...decided what was best was for me to go home...so I left at 10:45 am, went home and slept until 3:30pm. Then, I got dressed and drove to class to give a presentation. If I had worked all day, I highly doubt I could have delivered a presentation.

...my very intelligent and caring classmates. They never cease to support me and each other.

Day 87: Field Placement + Romance

Today I learned...
...that my field placement will end earlier than I thought it would. By April 11th, I will have enough hours to graduate - so for a couple of weeks, all I will have to worry about are classes and work. ;-)

...quality time and closeness with Rick. Finally.

Day 73: Sleep + a Sweet Old Lady

...that it's okay to say "no" to things and go to sleep. I am so wiped out and need to sleep right now. So I'm going...

Today I am thankful for...
...the sweet elderly woman I met at hospice today. She said, "Isn't she cute?" (about me) to people who were around, and then said to me, "I love your hair...I love your face...I love your earrings!...I love your little ears!" She really was adorable and wonderful. She said, "I hope your husband loves all those things too! And if he doesn't, I'll...have to punch him!" :-)
