...that coffee with Jenn is good in any state, in any setting - whether it be Port Authority, NYC...coffee shops near and far...Starbucks...or at my own kitchen table.

Day 214: Parents + Reiki Gifts

Today I learned...
...that parents are always parents.

Today I am thankful for...
...my beautiful friend Jenn who gave the gift of Reiki to Rick. I watched the whole process and it was amazing and heartfelt. I am also thankful for my time with her making goofy videos and playing with twin MacBook Pros.

Day 206: Good Son + Flash Drives

...Rick is an even better son than I knew.

...flash drives. Such beautiful things. 

Day 167: Tired + Close Parents

Today I learned...
...that after walking over 10 miles in NYC, talking a mile a minute, and riding a bus, I will still be tired after 9 hours of sleep.

Today I am thankful for...
...living 15 minutes away from my parents.

Day 161: CD + Mom Love

Today I learned...
...that the love song CD Rick created for us to listen to on our drive to Maine is pretty darn cute.

Today I am thankful for...
...a mom who volunteers to visit my house regularly to take care of my kitties when we go away. 19 days until vacation! I can't wait!

Day 132: Gifts + Mother's Day

Today I learned...
...that Rick will benefit from some of the graduation gifts I received from others. Thank you!

Today I am thankful for...
...time with my mom, my other mom (mom's best friend), and my nieces. That's what Mother's Day is all about: being with the 2 people who are mothers to me and being with the 2 little girls who make Mother's Day less painful because I can't have children of my own.

Today I learned...
...that thinking the best of people doesn't always mean they will do the best things.

Today I am thankful for...
...the chance to be with my mom. We had dinner and saw my friend's production of AIDA. It was a great night.

...that respect is the ingredient that keeps people from being hurt in bad situations.

...a nice, long phone call with my buddy Alicia. :-)

...that a good cry can be just that: good. There is purpose in most things.

Today I am thankful for...

...lunch with my parents. They fed me, they bestowed coffee upon me, and then they sent me back to work.

...that compromise always exists.

Today I am thankful for...
...dinner and laughter with Rick, my parents, my brother, my sister-in-law, and my little niece. That little girl is highly entertaining. She sang, she danced, she read us books, she counted, she recited her ABCs, and she made us all laugh. Only in this world for 2 years and she's a bundle of hilarity. :-)
